Reverberation, Evocation, Reminiscent
I possess a discerning intuition when selecting hotels. What lingers is he resonance that unfolds after arrival—the interplay of immediate sensory experience, atmosphere, and memory that continues long after departure. Within experiential hotels, there exists a certain spark: an encounter that begins with fascination and gradually transforms into something more enduring.
Travelling alone heightens this condition. It places one in a state of uncertainty and openness, where perception becomes sharper and vulnerability invites greater self-honesty. Hotels, once seen as temporary shelters for solitude, gradually reveal themselves as spaces of clarity, reflection, and quiet hope.
When I approach a hotel, I first read it through the lens of design. I observe its façade, form, structure, and material language, interpreting how these elements shape its architectural expression. From there, I read beyond the physical form—to its architectural lineage, cultural context, and the evolution of its identity across time.
What emerges is not simply analysis, but a layering of perception: the physical presence of the space intersecting with its architectural memory and my own emotional response. In this convergence, observation becomes experience, and experience becomes residue—a lingering impression that remains beyond the stay.
The Art of Staying explores designed environments as lived experiences—spaces where architecture, atmosphere, and human presence intersect.
Hotels form the foundation of this exploration, offering intimate encounters with architecture, interiors, hospitality, and the stories embedded within place. Each spatial piece begins with the immediacy of experience and unfolds through the reading of materiality, design intention, cultural context, and historical lineage.
These writings explore inhabitation: the evolving relationship between human presence and the environments we encounter, interpret, and remember.
Rather than simply documenting places, this body of work seeks to understand how spaces are constructed, perceived, and carried forward through memory. Guided by observation and research, I aim to translate spatial experiences into narratives that reveal not only what a place is, but what it evokes and leaves behind.

The Writer’s Lens
I am a design writer who practices architectural writing. My writing emerges from a dialogue between architecture, interior design, and narrative.
Shaped through vigorous research across architecture, art, culture, and history, each piece seeks to move beyond technical understanding—to capture the atmosphere, emotion, and resonance embedded within a place.
I approach writing as an act of attention and interpretation, embodying the rigour of academia, the sensitivity of an artist, and the storytelling ability of a writer.
Ultimately, I aspire to interpret the world through both intellectual and aesthetic lenses—to articulate the beauty, meaning, and human experience embedded within the spaces we inhabit.
